Susan Francis is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with extensive experience in providing therapeutic care. She earned her Bachelor of Science from UMASS Dartmouth and her Master of Social Work from Rhode Island College. Susan has worked in various clinical settings, including two local psychiatric inpatient hospitals and within Southcoast Health Systems, as well as serving as Director of Behavioral Health in a primary care environment.


Susan’s practice focuses on providing individual therapy for teens and adults, specializing in managing trauma and stressful personal concerns. She uses a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Behavior Modification, Coping Skills Development, Self-Care Improvement, and Mindfulness Practices.


With significant experience in treating Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, relationship issues, personal trauma, and school avoidance, Susan adopts a collaborative, person-centered approach that emphasizes individual strengths and resilience while helping clients develop productive strategies for navigating life challenges.
